Egyptian efforts to increase recycling of industrial waste

Egyptian Trade and Industry Plastics Technology Center recently announced a new industrial waste recycling program, through the scheme; Waste plasticrecycling business will be added to the current 300.000 tons to 700.000 tons.

Saeed the Plastics Technology Center Director said that with the continuous development of national industry, the Egyptian government is increasingly concerned about the recovery and recycling of industrial waste, which can not only protect the natural environment and promote sustainable economic development, but also through the establishment of relevant industry and create more jobs.

Currently, Egypt industrial waste each year to reach 16.2 million tons, of which 60 % are organic waste, in line with the recovery and recycling standards.
